Thankfully, at least as far as we can see at this point, our Dish satellite post bent over, with the dish pointing horizontal rather than into the sky, so we have lost our signal until it can be repaired. Could be worse...

Oh yeah, the cable keeps going in and out.

But, it could be worse.

.

My cable is so bad that I can hardly tell if it from hurricane damage or just "normal".

I was out cutting one side off a lemon tree last night as it was just about to uproot. Later it looked even worse as the winds picked up, but by then Tubby had heard about a guy in Plantation getting killed by a falling tree and wouldn't let me go back outside. Last I looked last night, I thought I would lose all the trees in the back. This morning, only one blew completely down and we staked it back up.

We went over to Plantation this morning to cut up a tree at Tubby's mom's house. It was in the street. Plantation has lots of signs saying it is "tree city." Wow, today that would be broken, covering the street tree city. From Pine Island east on Peters
Rd, all those huge trees had big breaks. Past University drive some were blocking the road. We couldn't even get down a couple streets in her neighborhood as trees were blocking the entire road. We checked in with my parents and their next door neighbor has a huge black olive tree in the swale leaning toward the street. Thirty feet of sidewalk was uprooted and leaning towards the street too. My parents lost power as soon as the first gust of wind came in, just like every other storm. Hopefully the power will be restored in a few days.

Well knowing about the insurance policies I'm glad you didn't send Tubby out there when you came in! ;)

He's not as stupid as I am! My brother said something similar when he called to check on us this morning. He said Tubby was trying to increase my life insurance on line and not being able to do so, made me come inside. :D

Bobby (my husband) wants to know how quickly power was restored to those in Weston who lost it.

Thanks and I'm glad that everyone's okay.

Thanks. That sucks.

I remember that during Andrew, we were lucky enough to have had our power restored within 48 hours. Other parts of the neighborhood (across the lake from us) were without power for the next week or so.

We were 4 or 5 days without power from Andrew. It was miserably hot, but I was glad that our house wasn't damaged. (We were in Broward).
