I saw that squirrel, it wasn't the pumpkin. The poor thing just walked by the HMC house.

Yesterday morning at 5:30 I left my house to go for my workout. As I am about to ride out of Highland the HMD comes driving it. That in itself was enough to scare the crap out of me. First off... what's he doing that early in the morning driving in? I figured he was on his way in from an all nighter. I was ready to head for the sidewalk, but we all know he has ended up their in his car before.

So as he is going by me he starts waving his arm out the window and yelling STOP !!! Yeah right, I don't even talk to my wife first thing in the morning. I just like to get out of bed, and get in motion. So I waved, but kept going. ignore: Any disturbance is enough to screw me up.

So I do about 26 miles, working on gradually getting my heartrate up nice and high. I am on the cool down phase and sure enough as I'm coming back into Highland, HMD is on his was back out. He turns they corner with his car slightly in my path andd sticks his head out the window and again starts to yell STOP !!!. This time he got to see the full brunt of my "short fuse". I hit the brakes and start yelling at him. "What do you want that's so damn important that you need to interupt my workout." I was quite over the top. He looks at me and says "Never mind.. it's not important now with you that mad." I looked at him and said "Robert, what is it you wanted?". He says, "I just wanted to tell you how your my idol I see you dilegently working out every morning. I wish I could be that dedicated." I then look in his car and see he has an open can of Bud sitting in his console. I told him that the first step is to get rid of that crap. He replied "I know, I'm an alchoholic"... I said "Yeah, but you're out drinking and driving". (It was now 7:30 in the morning.) His reply was yeah, but I can still drive like this.

The below chart is from the heartrate monitor on my GPS..... towards the end of my cool down phase you can see where I encounter him. It starts going back up. taz:

When he kills someone some day (it is inevitable), I hope it isn't anyone we know.

As you said Steve, the sidewalk isn't even safe. He has hit trees and mailboxes in the past.
