Explain this.

I need a powered USB hub to stop my weather station from losing com port connection, or I have to change the data logger to a serial connection.

They will replace my USB data collector with a serial at no cost.

Are any of my computer USB ports powered Doh or is this something extra I need to buy?

It is an external device that adds multiple ports to the one usb port on your computer. They are specifying it have it's own power, ie plugs into an a/c outlet. The length of a usb cable is limited, so by using a powered usb hub "in the middle" of a long cable run, you can effectively extend the maximum usb cable length. That will be a good excuse to go Circuit City or Best Buy. Ten - Twenty dollar item, I should be able to out of the store for a few hundred dollars. Whoo

So Far, it looks like the power usb hub has solved the lost com port connection. Keeping my fingers crossed.

Maybe if you could get Donna to climb up a high pole to hold that meter you would get a better reading?Nono
